Cutting Crew – (I Just) Died In Your Arms

One of my favourite bands now, on the blog for the first time with this, their only top twenty hit. It reached UK#4 in September, and was back for one last visit to the chart on this day in the 80s, at #97.

They had 6 hits in all, from ’86-’89. This was a US#1, their first of 4 hits from ’86-’89.

It must have been something you said

And here are the highest charting singles that have not featured on the blog and appear to have missed their chances in 2016. This could be because there were too many good songs to fit in, because I don’t like it, or I don’t know it. Or because I forgot, which is what may have happened with Starship:

1 Nana Mouskouri – Only Love (Reached #2)
2 Frank Sinatra – Theme From New York New York (#4)
3 Lulu – Shout (#8)
4 Status Quo – Rolling Home (#9)
5 Samantha Fox – Do Ya Do Ya (#10)
6=Starship – We Built This City (=#12)
6=Aurra – Shot In The Dark (#12)
8 Claire And Friends – It’s ‘Orrible Being In Love When You’re Eight And A Half (#13)
9 Audrey Hall – Smile (#14)
10 Cashflow – Mine All Mine / Party Freak (#15)
