Just when you thought Michael’s chart career was over, he pops back in with this re-release with his old band. It first charted in ’79, when it reached US#1 and UK#31, and it was back to UK#57 this time around, and in the chart for the last time on this day in the 80s, at #74.
Michael wouldn’t be back in the charts again until ’02, but the Doobies had a few more re-releases. This was their 5th of 8 hits from ’74-’94, with their biggest hit coming in ’93 – when “Long Train Running” was a #8.
