Doris Day – Move Over Darling

There were a lot of re-releases around at this time in the 80s, so I’m celebrating with a week’s worth of them, starting with this new (old) entry from Doris Day.

It reached UK#8 when it was first released in ’64. This time around it reached #45, and was a new entry on the chart at #74. She had 17 hits from when the chart began in ’52, through to ’64, plus a couple of re-releases in ’87 and ’90. She had 2 #1s, including “Que Sera Sera”

In the US, she had 67 hits between ’45 and ’62, including 5 #1s, one of which was “Sentimental Journey”. This song didn’t make the chart, though.

The way you sigh has me waving my conscience bye bye
