The Pogues & The Dubliners – The Irish Rover

Traditional Irish band The Dubliners came together with modern rowdy Irish band the Pogues for this UK#8 hit tat was in the chart for the last time on this day in the 80s, at #65.

This was The Dubliners’ first hit for 20 years, and their 4th of 5 hits from ’67-’90, which included the ’67 #7 “Seven Drunken Nights”

The Pogues have had 20 hits since ’85, of which this was the 6th. “Fairytale Of New York” was their biggest hit, reaching #2 in ’87.
