The Bluebells’ big song entered the chart for the first time on this day in the 80s.
It was at #54 and t would go on to peak at UK#8 for now, their 4th of 7 hits. It was re-released in ’93 when it would make it all the way to UK#1 for 4 weeks. When they appeared on Top Of The Pops to celebrate their #1, they memorably made fun of the less tuneful music popular at the time by inserting the line “techno tehno techno techno” into the song.
